EAST GARRISON, Monterey County — October 28, 2026. East Garrison residents have several types of public recreation space, but the rules are not identical everywhere. The East Garrison Community Services District publishes separate guidelines for West Camp Park and Bluff Courts Park, its designated dog parks, and applications for events involving special equipment or group use.
What are the ordinary park hours?
The district states that West Camp Park and Bluff Courts Park are open from sunrise to sunset. Its published rules prohibit smoking, alcohol and cannabis use, camping, and use of outside trash disposal. Dogs are prohibited in these two general-park areas under the posted park rules. Anyone accompanying a pet should instead consult the rules for the designated dog parks; a dog-park designation is not permission to bring dogs into all nearby recreation areas.
Are drones and grills allowed?
The park rules permit operation of remote-controlled aircraft, including drones, only when operators comply with relevant federal, state and local laws, including airspace and privacy requirements. The district prohibits fires other than tabletop propane grills. An allowance under one park rule does not supersede a later fire restriction or any FAA operating rule.
What about loud music or gatherings?
The official rules limit amplified sound to 50 decibels as measured 50 feet from the source and prohibit skateboards and scooters within the covered park areas. The district’s information also sets permit requirements for inflatable attractions such as bounce houses, including adult supervision and attendance during delivery and pickup. Permits are stated to be nonrefundable.
Who maintains the parks?
The East Garrison Community Services District, administered by Monterey County, is responsible for its district facilities and posts contact information for maintenance, permits and advisory-committee participation. Earlier 2026 contracting notices for parks, roads and stormwater facilities are a separate procurement story, not a new restriction announced today.
